Using LogMe In or TeamViewer is a great suggestion, the other option is to using DDNS and setting up VPN on your home internet modem (if supports VPN), sites site www.noip.com/free provide you a static FQDN instead of IP and it maps it to your modem's IP, by having VPN running on your modem you can always access your home network and access your lab.
